Technologieminister Norbert Hofer gratuliert FREQUENTIS zum EU-Auftrag für die Mitwirkung bei groß angelegten Drohnentests

Im Rahmen eines Firmenbesuches bei der Frequentis AG in Wien konnte sich Technologie- und Infrastrukturminister Norbert Hofer von der Innovationskraft der österreichischen High-Tech Schmiede überzeugen. Frequentis-Eigentümer Hannes Bardach ließ es sich nicht nehmen, den Herrn Bundesminister zu den laufenden Innovationsvorhaben sowie Projekten zu informieren.


Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt aktuell im Drohnen-Management. Weltweit werden Drohnen künftig verstärkt im Luftraum für verschiedene Anwendungsfälle anzutreffen sein; es gilt. Verfahren und Technologien im Flugverkehrsmanagement entsprechend an diese neuen Anforderungen anzupassen.


Im Rahmen des EU-Programms SESAR (Single European Sky) zur Neugestaltung des europäischen Luftraums nimmt die Gewährleistung eines sicheren und umweltfreundlichen Drohnenflugbetriebs im bodennahen Luftraum eine wesentliche Rolle ein. In diesem bis 150 m reichenden Luftraum („U-Space“) sollen neue Möglichkeiten für sichere und effiziente Integration der Drohnen geschaffen werden.

Bei einem groß angelegten Drohnentest im Golf von Finnland soll die umfassende Erprobung eines Verkehrsleitsystems für solche unbemannten Fluggeräte (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, UAV) erfolgen. Unter der Leitung der estnischen Flugsicherung EANS werden eine Reihe europäische Unternehmen und Behörden sowie UTM-Spezialisten – darunter Frequentis – ihre Expertise beim Test verschiedener operativer Szenarien und Konzepte einbringen.

Bundesminister Hofer gratulierte Herrn Bardach herzlich zu diesem Erfolg: „Ich bin überzeugt davon, dass Drohnen schon in naher Zukunft in vielen Bereichen nicht mehr wegzudenken sein werden. Und ich bin stolz darauf, dass sich österreichische Firmen wie Frequentis bei solchen Innovationen federführend einbringen.“
