Drone as a first responder
Putting drones at the command of public safety control rooms
Uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) are becoming increasingly commonplace as organisations discover the benefits of deploying them for tasks that are time-critical, dangerous or lengthy for human teams. With their ability to quickly reach the scene of an incident and stream high-quality video, drones are set to transform real-time situational awareness in public safety control rooms. And as both technology and legal frameworks evolve, drones may soon be able to deliver lifesaving equipment to victims or even fight fires. The Frequentis automated drone dispatching solution is designed to fit seamlessly into existing control rooms and their workflows, enabling automated remote control of UAVs beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) with minimal additional effort.
Faster emergency response
Automated drones can reduce average emergency response times by up to 75%, giving public safety organisations faster situational awareness when every second counts.
Expertise for automated operations
Drawing on decades of expertise in air traffic management, uncrewed traffic management, control centres, data fusion and safety-critical communications, Frequentis enables highly automated drone operations at scale.
Automated dispatch from the control centre
Integrated with Frequentis communication and control centre software, the Automated Drone Dispatch System (ADD) can dispatch and control drones equipped with high-resolution cameras and sensors. Mission coordinates are transferred directly to the drone management system, which calculates the route and risks and secures the necessary clearances. The drone can then fly automatically beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), transmitting live video to the control centre via public 5G networks.
Earlier situational awareness and integrated, efficient workflows
This early bird’s-eye view helps operators assess incidents, plan targeted responses and coordinate multiple emergency services. Qualified operators remain in control and can intervene manually when required. Drone assistance is embedded into existing control room workflows, improving efficiency while reducing risk, response times and costs.
Protection from unauthorised drones
Frequentis also supports the detection and kinetic disabling of unauthorised drones to help protect public spaces and critical infrastructure.
