FREQUENTIS: UK’s first cloud-based emergency control room deployed for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service

  • Frequentis has enabled West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to become the first UK emergency service with a fully cloud-based control room
  • Hosted on a secure public cloud, the system will provide faster coordination, accelerating fire crew response times
  • The new control room equips operators with enhanced flexibility, third-party integration, and streamlined operations to better support crews protecting over two million residents

The solution combines Frequentis LifeX with the Regola (a member of the Frequentis Group) Unique Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) platform, hosted securely on a public cloud, the first time this has been achieved for a mission-critical control room in the UK. It provides a single environment for voice, data, and dispatch operations, and integrates with third-party systems including mobile data terminals, station end equipment, and the Airwave radio network used by UK emergency services.

“This is a landmark project for Frequentis and a key moment for control room innovation in the UK,” says Mike Garrod, Managing Director Frequentis UK. “It reflects our commitment to delivering secure, resilient, and adaptable solutions for emergency services.”

Florida’s digital tower boosted by FREQUENTIS X10 implementation

  • Bartow Executive Airport gets fully integrated communications platform to support digital tower vision
  • The fully IP-based X10 communication system enables seamless radio, telephony, and recording, enhancing safety, resilience, and controller efficiency
  • X10 delivery was accelerated to fast-track digital tower testing in 2026 and U.S National Airspace System (NAS) modernisation

The Frequentis digital tower solution, implemented into the newly renovated Digital Tower Operations Center at Bartow airport in summer 2025, required a future-ready communications solution designed specifically for digital operations. Frequentis was selected to deliver a fully digital communications platform to unify voice, recording, and terminal information including weather (ATIS) on one platform, to reduce complexity, modernise legacy infrastructure, increase resilience, and support the airport’s long term innovation goals.

“Working with a partner like Bartow Executive Airport allows us to demonstrate the benefits of digital tower technology for aviation-grade resilience, safety, scalability, and efficiency as well as lay the foundation for digital tower operations in the U.S.,” says Dieter Eier, President Frequentis USA.
