Frequentis develops and markets highly reliable communication and information systems for mission critical applications. The company is continuously growing worldwide, therefore the long-term development of employees is essential and there are always new opportunities available.

The company’s mission statement is “For a Safer World”, because Frequentis solutions help make the world a safer place. This is a special task that the organization is very proud of and is at the center of the corporate culture. In order to support mission-critical systems on a daily basis, it is essential to identify with the customers’ individual missions and have a deep understanding of their needs. The ability to offer the best solutions is enabled because we are able to understand how control centers (e.g. in air traffic management, emergency services, railways or coast guards) work and what is essential to their success.

Frequentis has successfully been providing communication and information systems for more than 70 years. Customers are located in 140 countries globally and our employees are just as multi-national. In addition to the company Headquarters in Vienna, Austria, there are offices in over 20 locations around the world, for example Romania, the United Kingdom, North America, Brazil, and Australia. Working at Frequentis means working in an international environment where you get to experience different cultures in a project-orientated environment

What makes us different from other international corporations is that we are a stock listed family company. Therefore, management decisions never lose sight of the people. It is important that employees feel good about coming to work in the morning and leaving later that day. There are individual routes to success based on the individual’s core skills – be it as a project manager, expert or manager, everyone can count on the opportunity to make their way at Frequentis. As a high-tech company, we trust in a balanced mix of university graduates and experts with a high level of professional experience. Around 75% of employees are highly-trained engineers and experts. A technical background in one of the following areas makes a good fit: IT, telecommunications, computer science, business informatics and software engineering. What our employees appreciate most about working at Frequentis is the company culture and the sense of mutual respect and cooperation. Joining the company is made easier for new colleagues as they are supported by a “tutor” throughout their first year. Teams are used to taking initiative and the corresponding responsibility and doing their jobs with joy and a high level of commitment.

This is further facilitated by state-of-the-art working conditions. For example, a high degree of flexibility is provided in regards to structuring personal working time. All employees receive modern IT equipment, which can also be used for working from home or on a business trip. FREQUENTIS Headquarters

Ca. 950 employees work in our headquarters in Vienna, which is the largest location of the Frequentis Group and the place “where it all began”. All business areas and support units are represented here, which is why there are so many career and training opportunities. We all share a passion for working on exciting and highly complex projects in an international environment.

An important success factor of our culture is flexibility in the way we work: Our employees can freely choose their working time and place of work as long as it is compatible with the operational requirements of the projects. This helps, among other things, to reconcile work and family life, which is important to many of our employees. In the office itself, open-plan offices invite employees to networked work, and on sunny days meetings can be held over a cup of coffee in the bright inner courtyard.

Career development is promoted and supported by internal career opportunities, training and the opportunity to spend time abroad. We are proud to keep so many employees at Frequentis for so many years through this offer - there is always something new to learn, to try out and the opportunity to share the knowledge acquired.

Career starters also have the opportunity to start their career at Frequentis - be it as part of an internship, a trainee program or a part-time job during their studies. For example, we are currently working closely with the FH Technikum Wien and the Technische Universität (TU) Wien as well as numerous HTLs in and around Vienna, and are delighted to welcome numerous of their graduates to our company every year. 

FREQUENTIS Romania

Frequentis Romania SRL was founded in 2009 and has its headquarters in Cluj. In the beginning of 2019 it employs 125 staff and its main business areas are Air Traffic Management, Flight Information Management and Public Safety.

In order to ensure our employees are up-to-date with the latest technological developments, we offer numerous training courses, further education courses and certifications. Every August we run a five-month trainee programme for engineers. Our young graduates learn both technical and soft skills and benefit from the expertise of an experienced tutor.

In co-operation with Babeș-Bolyai University and Cluj-Napoca University of Technology, we have developed student talent programmes. We offer annual summer internships where students have the opportunity to participate in a business project under the supervision of a tutor. In addition, we co-operate with the ERASMUS programme and offer students a three-month placement at our Headquarters in Vienna.

The city of Cluj also organises various IT events and conferences each year and we are proud to be a partner. This gives us a great opportunity to network with local IT professionals and our staff can benefit from the knowledge shared on a wide range of topics presented by the speakers. We believe that continuous learning is the only way for SW developers and testers to remain competitive in today's very dynamic technology market.

FREQUENTIS Deutschland

Frequentis Deutschland GmbH was founded in 1985. Today it operates from two locations -  Langen and Bonn – and currently has ca. 40 employees. A further 20 staff work at ELARA Leitstellentechnik, another member of the Frequentis Group based in Aachen.

Over the past 25 years, Frequentis Germany has grown steadily and its customer base has remained constant. As market leader in the field of Public Safety and Civil and Military Air Traffic Control, we are constantly reviewing the complex and diverse range of tasks needing to be undertaken by those working in these intense safety critical areas. For Frequentis employees, that means the work is extremely interesting and technically challenging.

Much of our focus is on expanding our market leadership in the field of Public Safety by winning new customers and demonstrating our innovative solutions. We are responsible for the entire value chain – from product development (working with ELARA Leitstellentechnik GmbH) to project management and solution maintenance with a particular emphasis on fire brigade and industrial control centres.

Another focus is the intensification of co-operation and development of new areas with business potential such as telecommunication towers for existing customers in civil and military Air Traffic Control. It is anticipated that Frequentis Germany will further expand in order to meet the growing in-country demand for our expert technology and capabilities.

By offering internal and external trainings, we keep our employees up-to-date with the latest technology.

FREQUENTIS Australasia

Frequentis Australasia (FAU) was established in 2004. With Headquarters in Brisbane/Queensland it has three additional sites across Australia – Sydney, Melbourne and Perth – and runs important long-term in-country projects. Frequentis employees are shaping the future of Australian military and civil aviation as well as having a significant and positive impact on other safety critical operational areas such as Public Transport, Public Safety, and Maritime.

At the beginning of 2019 we are employing around 35 people and we are making a significant investment in growing its workforce and capabilities. We therefore anticipate that this number will increase year on year and have an exciting range of jobs to offer.
