Empowering police with integrated, real-time operational control

Police services need robust, intuitive systems that support both proactive daily operations and rapid emergency response. Frequentis brings incident management, dispatch, multimedia communications, GPS tracking, and data-driven services together within a flexible, open solution. Police forces manage a broad range of responsibilities, from emergency response, patrols, and investigations to traffic enforcement, event security, and public safety checks. Effective operations depend on real-time situational awareness and the ability to deploy personnel, vehicles, and equipment quickly and efficiently.

New technologies and communication channels provide richer information but also increase control room complexity. Operators must often navigate separate systems for incident management, mapping, communications, customer information, and video. Manually combining data and workflows across these tools can lead to information overload, delays, errors, and increased pressure on frontline personnel.

Frequentis addresses these challenges with an integrated, open, and flexible approach to incident management, communication, and dispatch. A single interface brings together core policing functions, helping operators access relevant information, make informed decisions, and coordinate the appropriate response. By simplifying workflows and supporting close collaboration with other emergency services, Frequentis solutions improve the efficiency of day-to-day policing while providing the resilience and scalability required for major incidents and peak operational demands.

Two of Germany’s largest police forces, rely on Frequentis 3020 LifeX to modernise their mission-critical communications systems. Bavaria now has unified phone and radio communications for its 43,000 staff, and North Rhine-Westphalia has scalable, cloud-hosted operations across 400 workstations serving 18 million people. These two important reference projects strengthen efficient and reliable emergency responses.

Two landmark UK police projects demonstrate the versatility and proven value of the Frequentis 3020 LifeX system. The Metropolitan Police Service is upgrading its command and control systems by integrating web-based multimedia services, while North Wales Police is unifying its emergency and non-emergency communications by integrating Hexagon’s I/CAD. This will support its transition to ESN and enable it to carry out operations on a large scale in a resilient and future-proof way.

Rhineland‑Palatinate operates a statewide, networked control room system for emergency services including fire service, police, emergency services and civil protection. Upgraded 3020 LifeX, it ensures resilient communications, flexible call routing, and seamless cooperation across police and non‑police agencies, even during major incidents.

As part of the PERLE project (Projekt ERneuerung LEitstellen), the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg has modernised police and fire control rooms with Frequentis 3020 LifeX. This delivers a multimedia, future-ready communications platform across two data centres, improving efficiency, Building on decades of experience in safety-critical communications for highly regulated industries, Frequentis supports everything from legacy radio to the latest multimedia communications, through flexible and intuitive user interfaces.

Designed for the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior and the state of Lower Austria, ELKOS Austria is a centralised operations and communications system that consolidates 99 control rooms into nine regional command centres. Using Frequentis 3020 LifeX and Hexagon CAD, it delivers ISO-certified, scalable multimedia coordination for police and fire services nationwide.

As the UK transitions from Airwave to ESN, Frequentis is delivering an MCX‑ready ESN Gateway, developed with the Home Office, connecting 3020 LifeX to ESN and ensuring a seamless, approved control‑room interface throughout the transition.
