Digital tower technology is completely changing the way towers operate. With our multi-remote digital tower technology, Frequentis offers systems for tower centres which can operate multiple remote towers from a single position within the tower centre. This significantly increases operational efficiency. In addition to panoramic camera arrays, the powerful smartVision camera system can be enhanced through the addition of PTZ cameras that act as binoculars for the air traffic controllers, giving them a better view of airport operations compared to any conventional tower.  

When it comes to reliability, Frequentis combines its leading network technology products to deliver optimal connectivity for demanding operations. Continuous monitoring and active routing detect, adapt to, and inform controllers about potential degradation in the event of a network impairment. 

Frequentis AI supports new concepts of runway intrusion and object classification using the optical surveillance system. Findings are automatically confirmed using the high-definition PTZ camera and controllers are informed. Frequentis Digital Tower can be operated at any scale: from a small deployable setup to a large multi-remote tower centre.

Departure Manager (DMAN)

The Frequentis Departure Manager solution supports consistent optimised planning of outbound airport traffic, in turn driving optimised target times at the runway and the stands. Its key objectives are the efficient management of airport departure traffic, to ensure maximum utilisation of the available runway capacity, and the appropriate management of additional constraints such as Minimum Departure Intervals (MDIs) and Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) requirements.

Integrated Arrival Departure Manager (IAD)

It can be difficult to optimise runway usage at high-demand, capacity-constrained airports, especially in the case of mixed-mode operations at airports that have just one runway for both arrivals and departures. The Frequentis Integrated Arrival Departure Manager (IAD) solution addresses the challenge of balancing arrivals and departures for maximised airport performance, for example by optimising the efficiency of integrating departures into the arrival stream.

Remote Digital Tower

Deployed in a Remote Digital Tower scenario, Frequentis Digital Tower solutions enable the remote provision of ATC services from different geographic locations, using a multitude of local sensors to give controllers the situational awareness needed to safely operate an airport. An ATM-grade network provides reliability and performance to safely connect the remote airport with the remote tower control centre.
