Poland relies on FREQUENTIS for its ATM communications and information solutions
July 2010: Frequentis places considerable value on its close customer relationship with PANSA (the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency). As well as supplying Poland with the new release (6.1) of its VCS 3020X voice communication system, the company is also set to equip Polish air traffic control with a national ATIS/VOLMET solution. The dual order further cements the strong position held by Frequentis in the European communications and tower markets.

More success for integrated tower solutions from FREQUENTIS
July 2010: Another new order is further proof of the continuing popularity of integrated tower solutions from Frequentis. The company’s latest success is a contract from the Norwegian air navigation service provider, AVINOR, to provide an integrated solution for their ICAMS (Integrated Control and Monitoring System) project. The framework contract covers the upgrade of conventional towers to ICAMS-towers within the next three years.

FREQUENTIS to supply Hong Kong with integrated tower solutions
June 2010:Hong Kong’s confidence in the integrated tower solutions offered by Frequentis has resulted in a new order for the company’s electronic flight strips system by the Civil Aviation Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region. Under the contract, the global market leader for communication and information systems in air traffic management will supply the two towers at Hong Kong International Airport with its “smartStrips” next-generation flight data handling solution, integrating both Departure Clearance (DCL) using datalink and its “smartTools” solution for aeronautical information display and control.

FREQUENTIS wins the Innovative Idea Award at the ICNS 2010 conference
June 2010: Eduard Gringinger, one of Frequentis young research engineers, received the “Student Innovative Idea Award” at the this year’s Integrated Communications Navigation and Surveillance (ICNS) conference in Washington DC. The 2010 event took place May 11 - 13 focusing on “The Challenges of NextGen: New Issues for Aviation's Future”. Frequentis received the award for its research on “Ontology-based CNS Software Development”.

New Tripoli ATC Tower to Receive FREQUENTIS Voice Communication Systems
June 2010: Frequentis has received a contract from OEA Grands Projets, Tripoli, Libya. As part of the air traffic control (ATC) tower package being supplied to Tripoli International Airport by OEA, Frequentis will supply the tower’s voice communication control systems (VCCS). The contract includes a separate radio backup system.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines joins the global FREQUENTIS AIM community
May 2010: In February 2009, the CAAP (Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines) gave the go ahead for a project that uses the FR-AIS (Frequentis AIM System) technology to modernise its AIM. This is facilitated in its first phase by connecting to the EUROCONTROL European AIS Database (EAD). The CAAP system and CAAP-EAD link are now well-established, with six months of system operation under the belt.

FREQUENTIS helps expand and modernise China’s Hongqiao Airport
March 2010: Frequentis recently installed its flagship VCS 3020X voice communication system at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport: the VCS entered full operation at the end of 2009. The ten-position facility is a key component of the airport’s expansion plans in anticipation of the Shanghai World Expo.

FREQUENTIS wins the triplet with Austro Control
February 2010: Frequentis, the global market leader in voice communication systems for air traffic control, has won a contract to supply its VCS 3020X Rel. 4.1 to the TWR/APP facilities at Klagenfurt, Innsbruck and Salzburg. The company’s partnership with Austro Control began back in 1955, when Frequentis installed voice communication equipment in Hangar 2 of Vienna Airport for the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (Austro Control’s predecessor). January 2010 provided further evidence of the strength of this long-lasting partnership, when Frequentis was contracted to supply the towers/approaches in Klagenfurt, Innsbruck and Salzburg with Release 4.1 of its VCS 3020 voice communication system.

New FREQUENTIS voice communication system goes live at Karlsruhe, one of Europe’s biggest Upper Area Control Centres
February 2010: Professionalism and reliability build the foundation for the 25-year-long cooperation between DFS (the German air navigation service provider) and Frequentis. December 16th, 2009 saw the new Frequentis voice communication system in the en-route centre Karlsruhe enter operation, featuring 185 main and 160 emergency working positions. This latest project now means Frequentis powers more than 800 main air traffic controller working positions and 700 emergency positions throughout Germany. The success of the project once again demonstrates the company’s leading ability to supply large-scale system solutions to the air traffic management (ATM) sector.

Mit 16.12.2009 ging die neue Kontrollzentrale, mit 185 Arbeitsplätzen und 160 Not-Arbeitsplätzen in Karlsruhe in Betrieb. Mit dem aktuellen Projekt verzeichnet Frequentis insgesamt 800 Arbeitsplätze und weitere 700 Notsysteme in Deutschland. Somit konnte Frequentis seine exzellente Performance für die Lieferung von Großsystemen im Bereich der Flugsicherung ein weiteres Mal unter Beweis stellen.

HungaroControl’s “Best Business Partner Award 2009”
February 2010: It was an enjoyable event in late January in Budapest when HungaroControl, the Hungarian air navigation service provider, presented its business awards 2009. And it was even more enjoyable for the Frequentis Director ATM Civil, Frank Molitor, to receive the “Best Business Partner” crystal award out of the hands of Mrs. Andrea Markó, Chief Executive Officer and Dr. Károly Lotz, President of Directorate HungaroControl.

FREQUENTIS joins EUROCONTROL’s VOTE (VoIP in ATM Implementation and Transition Expert) Group
February 2010: In 2009, EUROCAE Working Group 67 (WG-67) released its specifications for VoIP (Voice over IP) in air traffic management (ATM) communications. Frequentis has contributed significantly to these standardisation activities. Given its continuing position as a leader in communications technologies for ATM, the company has now also joined the EUROCONTROL's VOTE (VoIP in ATM Implementation and Transition Expert) Group.
