FREQUENTIS iCWP
Integrated Controller Working Position
The growth of air traffic over recent years has brought exponential increases to the controller’s workload. As this load continues to grow, the human-machine symbiosis becomes even more important. The controller needs the support of an optimised working environment.
As a core element of the control room, the integrated controller working position (iCWP) is an essential tool, controllers use each and every day.
The iCWP Concept
The layout and design of today’s working position is typically dependent on the systems integrated within the consoles. This approach makes it difficult to implement a homogeneous design with the built-in flexibility to meet individual controller needs. It also prevents the optimal placement of equipment to reflect ergonomic priorities.
An iCWP framework that is independent of backbone systems removes these design constraints and brings the controller in the centre of the iCWP. Full design flexibility opens up new opportunities for improvement.
The Frequentis iCWP can be seen as a form of 2nd level integration. It covers everything from the console to the operating system, making it the ideal platform for modern toolboxes. Each of the iCWP’s modules can, of course, also be obtained separately.
