Frequentis recently installed its flagship VCS 3020X voice communication system at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport:
the VCS entered full operation at the end of 2009. The ten-position facility is a key component of the airport’s expansion plans in anticipation of the Shanghai World Expo.
China turned to Frequentis to provide the new voice communication system in light of Hongqiao’s expansion programme, which includes a new runway and terminal building.
The completed project is testament to the strength of the long-term relationship between the Austria-based hi-tech company and China, since the same airport was the site of the company’s first contract in the country in 1994.
This latest example of Frequentis success in Asia reinforces its position as the global market leader in voice communication systems for air traffic management (ATM).
