FREQUENTIS technology for the airspace of the viking country

Norwegian air navigation service provider AVINOR places contract for ACC Oslo with the Austrian based company

Frequentis has been chosen to supply the communications equipment for the Area Control Centre (ACC) Oslo. The world-market leader for Voice Communication Systems in Air Traffic Control will supply four systems which are to go operational already in January 2009.

This most recent order by the Norwegian air navigation service provider AVINOR continues the Frequentis success story in Norway: In the past few years, Frequentis already equipped the ACC Bodø and the TWR/APP Trondheim with its proven VCS technology. By this project for the ACC Oslo, the Vienna headquartered communications specialist Frequentis further strengthens its position in the North of Europe.

The contract for ACC Oslo was signed on March 6. It includes four Frequentis VCS 3020X with a total of 115 working positions. Decisive for the success of the Austrian high tech company over its local competitors was, while remaining very cost-effective, the high quality, the state-of-the-art technology, and above all the short schedule of delivery. The Factory Acceptance Test is already planned for August, 2008, the go-live for January, 2009.
