Testing MFC-R2 according to EUROCONTROL Specifications

Frequentis Air Traffic Control products support voice networking and have already used the Multi Frequency Coding (MFC-) signalling protocol for many years. The Frequentis MFC-Analyser 2.0 evaluates MFC-R2 lines according to the EUROCONTROL ATS R2 protocol specification. During call set-up the MFC-R2 signalling protocol uses multi-frequency coding by means of analog 4-wire lines for the transmission of source and destination numbers along with priority and status information concerning the called party.

A Special Measuring Tool
The Frequentis MFC-Analyser comprises a software application with a graphic user interface and a measuring adapter which offer interfaces for the actual physical measuring of the analog MFC-lines. The MFC-Analyser software application runs on a commercially available personal computer (usually a laptop with MS Windows® operating system). The connection to the measuring adapter is enabled directly via a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet interface or via a LAN (Local Area Network).
