FR-AIS - BASIS FOR A WORLDWIDE DATABASE
FR-AIS is a suite of applications first used in the European AIS (Aeronautical Information Services) database – EAD. The data is intended for civil and military aviation authorities, air navigation service providers, airlines and other companies outside the ECAC states.
AIS
An AIS (Aeronautical Information System) assists Air Navigation Service Providers and Airlines with the provision, distribution and use of aeronautical information. It helps to ensure the safety, regularity and efficiency of air navigation by:
- Providing integrated (NOTAM, MET,…) briefing services to pilots, airlines and AROs
- Assisting or automating the collection and distribution of short term aeronautical information

- Providing tools for publishing and maintaining long term aeronautical information

FR-AIS SERVER TECHNOLOGY
FR-AIS is the consolidated repository of local and world-wide aeronautical information. It validates and verifies this information and ensures the seamless data-flow from the data originator to the data user. FR-AIS Server Software is based on most recent but tested and proven technology, is highly scalable (from entry class to high end hardware) and highly reliable and available. FR-AIS Server Technology is designed for disaster resilience and fulfills strict safety requirements. It is net-centric and in line with the current industry best practices and with principles like NGATS.
FR-AIS END-USER TECHNOLOGY
The software for FR-AIS end-users is intended for Air Navigation Service Providers, Aircraft Operators (airlines) and Airports. AIS departments responsible for adding, maintaining and correcting their respective national data as well as data users benefit from the several levels of data verification.
