FAA NextGen Activities
With its delivery of all current voice switches for FAA towers and TRACONs, Frequentis is actively contributing to the overhaul of our nation’s air traffic control system.
In addition, Frequentis actively participates in various NextGen research activities, such as the development of a next-generation Voice over IP communication standard for air traffic control or the evolving standard for AIXM 5.1 (the global standard for aeronautical information exchange).
By partnering with institutions such as the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, Frequentis takes an active role in developing NextGen solutions. Frequentis has contributed its successful smartStrips electronic flight strips product to the new NextGen Florida test bed. smartStrips will provide workflow support for ground and local controllers as well as a data link front end to the aircraft for pre-departure clearances.
