Frequentis UK & the Safer London Foundation
We are pleased to be able to support the Safer London Foundation (SLF), the Metropolitan Police charity, which was launched in 2005 to support the police's Safer Neighbourhoods programme which is focused on making London a safer place. The charity works closely with local officers, communities and organisations to:
- support community-based crime prevention and victim support projects
- provide mentoring for ex-offenders to enable them to get into education, training and jobs
- link volunteers from private sector companies to local organisations
- provide training for Safer Neighbourhood Panels
The SLF is committed to making the lives of Londoners, especially young Londoners, safer and to helping make a difference locally. They receive funding from the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, from private sector companies and fundraising events and are the only charity in London working to put this money back where it's needed most: into the communities most effected by crime. Since its launch, the SLF has so far funded more than 120 crime prevention and victim support projects in London.
