The international Frequentis Group ended 2011 in a stable and stronger financial position. Despite the challenging market conditions, the group recorded improvements in both operating performance and earnings. The former reached EUR 163.4 million, with earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of EUR 7.3 million.
Frequentis intends to continue this process of sustainable growth. This shall be achieved by securing the market share in the company’s traditional European market, as well as by actively expanding into other geographical markets.

Wirtschaftlich gestärkt und stabil schließt die internationale Frequentis-Gruppe das Jahr 2011 ab. Trotz der herausfordernden Marktbedingungen gelang es, sowohl bei der Betriebsleistung als auch im Ergebnis zu wachsen. Die Betriebsleistung erreichte EUR 163,4 Millionen bei einem EBIT (Ergebnis vor Steuern und Zinsen) von EUR 7,3 Millionen.
Frequentis will diesen nachhaltigen Wachstumsprozess fortsetzen. Dies soll sowohl über die Sicherung des Marktanteils des Unternehmens auf dem konventionellen europäischen Markt erreicht werden, als auch über die aktive Expansion in andere geographische Märkte.

After the period of stabilisation in 2009, we were able to again pick up momentum quickly, with the Frequentis Group showing a significant growth spurt and outstanding performance for the business year 2010. We generated an operating performance that went up by 17% from EUR 132 million in 2009 to over EUR 154 million in 2010. Similarly, the increase in EBIT (earnings before interests and taxes) was remarkable, more than doubling in 2010 to EUR 6.9 million compared to the previous year (in 2009 EBIT was EUR 3.1 million). With regard to our future development, we want to ensure sustainable growth as set out in our vision, which provides the guidance for our continued development. We are striving to be number one in control centre solutions on the global market and our strong technology orientation and capacity for innovation are crucial characteristics on our path to realise this ambition.

Nach einem Jahr der Stabilisierung in 2009 konnten wir rasch wieder Fahrt aufnehmen: Für das Wirtschaftsjahr 2010 zeigte die Frequentis-Unternehmensgruppe einen signifikanten Wachstumsschub und eine hervorragende Performance. Bei der Betriebsleistung erwirtschafteten wir eine Steigerung von 17%, von EUR 132 Mio. im Jahr 2009 auf knapp EUR 155 Mio. im Jahr 2010. Ähnlich bemerkenswert die Steigerung im EBIT (Earnings before Interests and Taxes, Betriebserfolg vor Zinsen und Steuern): Hier kommt es für 2010 mit EUR 6,9 Mio. sogar zu mehr als einer Verdoppelung im Vergleich zum Vorjahr zu sichern (2009 lag das EBIT bei EUR 3,1 Mio.). Auch für die Zukunft wollen wir nachhaltiges Wachstum sicherstellen; das ist in unserer Vision verankert – diese bildet die Orientierung und Leitlinie für unsere weitere Entwicklung. Wir streben die Position der „Number One in Control Centre Solutions“ auf dem Weltmarkt an – unsere hohe Technologieorientierung und Innovationskraft sind wesentliche Eigenschaften auf dem Weg zur Realisierung dieses Visionsziels.

The Frequentis Group had an exciting year 2009, but the Frequentis Group succeeded in sustaining its good and stable position on the world market. Frequentis' total operating performance generated EUR 131.6 million in 2009 which corresponds to a decrease of 6.7% compared to 2008. Thanks to timely steps to counteract the economic downturn in the form of a comprehensive cost-saving package we succeeded in maintaining EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) of EUR 3.1 million.
We are present on promising markets - the drivers of our business are safety and transport, the mega trends of the 21 century. We intend to expand our expertise as well as our range of services in the field of control centre solutions - integrated solutions in the safety critical domain - and thus to consolidate our position on the global market.

Im wirtschaftlich herausfordernden Jahr 2009 gelang es der Frequentis AG, sich gut und stabil am Weltmarkt zu behaupten. Basis für das nachhaltige Wachstum und den weiteren Ausbau zur international tätigen Unternehmensgruppe ist der 2009 erzielte Auftragseingang in der Höhe von EUR 159,5 Mio. Der weltwirtschaftliche Abschwung wirkte sich in den einzelnen Geschäftsfelder unterschiedlich aus – Rückgänge im Bereich der Flugsicherung konnten durch die exzellente Performance der Geschäftsfelder Public Safety und Maritime weitgehend wettgemacht werden. In Summe wurde so eine Betriebsleistung von EUR 131,6 Mio. erzielt. Beim Betriebsergebnis gelang es mit EUR 3,1 Mio. ein positives Ergebnis zu sichern.
Wir bewegen uns auf interessanten Märkten – die Treiber unseres Geschäftes sind Sicherheit und Mobilität, die Megatrends des 21. Jahrhunderts. Wir wollen unsere Kompetenz und unsere Leistungspalette im Bereich der „Control Center Solutions“ – integrierte Lösungen im sicherheitskritischen Anwendungsbereich - weiter ausbauen und damit unsere Stellung am Weltmarkt zusätzlich festigen.

The Frequentis Group is well positioned even to cope with changing market and economic conditions. Our passion for growth was also a business driver in 2008. Operating performance was up 6.2% from EUR 133 million in 2007 to EUR 141 million in 2008; we set up a new group record for order intake at EUR 157 million. Our workforce now is about 800 people.
