Digital Radio

Digital trunked radio is becoming increasingly important in the public safety sector. Digital radio networks are replacing ageing analogue radio infrastructures. Frequentis command and control centre systems are prepared for the new technology. The voice communication systems are equipped with a special interface for digital trunked radio and support services such as group calls, dynamic grouping and short data services. Frequentis - a pioneer in the digital trunked radio field - has a proven track record in working with TETRA, TETRAPOL or GSM and has already implemented several digital radio projects. Frequentis has a wealth of TETRA-related experience and know-how. This comes from many years of work on successful projects dealing with public safety command and control centres and interfacing to legacy radios and third-party TETRA systems.

The company has long-term co-operation agreements and partnerships with important TETRA manufacturers like Motorola and EADS/Nokia. Frequentis also participated in ETSI’s development of the TETRA specification.

As a member of the TETRA MoU Association, Frequentis is keeping a close eye on current TETRA trends and developments. This lets us incorporate state-of-the-art expertise in the Frequentis solutions supplied to the police, ambulance and fire services.

This expertise has made Frequentis a valued partner on important issues concerning technology and other developments in the public safety community. In 2005, we concentrated our operational TETRA expertise in 3T Communications AG, a Frequentis spin-off and member of the Frequentis network.
