VCS 3020X
Integrated Defence Communicatio System
The VCS 3020X unleashes the power of network centric air defence communications. The VCS 3020X gives authorised operators access to all defence communication resources - regardless of the system load - at any time. The comprehensive set of defence communication features is designed to be applied to meet any customer's distinct requirements. Individual adaptations are kept to a minimum, making the VCS 3020X the perfect cots/mots solution for a wide variety of defence communication applications.
Frequentis continues an evolutionary approach with the migration to IP-environments and IP-based network centric communications. This migration culminated in the design of an integrated IP-enabled network solution. The solution is SIP-based and incorporates standard cots-components.
Network-Wide Role and User Management - Mission Management as it Should be
Supporting any advanced concept of operation, the system can be confi gured from any site connected to the network. Any authorised system user can assign roles and profi les. Controller tasks can be shifted back and forth between several VCS 3020X sites. Roles are not bound to physical positions, thus network-wide free seating is enabled. Additionally the VCS 3020X allows a role to be „pushed“ or „pulled“. A mission management tool supports a variety of operational scenarios and roles throughout the network.
Networking
The VCS 3020X is a Frequentis product facilitating the transition from today’s platform and system-centric implementations towards a future network centric concept with focus on information sharing, common situational awareness and interoperability.
Interoperability and networking have elevated to a key requirement for successful communications; a coherent network for collaborative coordination becomes essential. As a real network centric application, several VCS 3020X centres may be distributed throughout a geographical region. These networked sites behave as a single system. All resources are accessible from any operator position within the network and can be controlled from any of the networked sites. The IP enforcing radio interface iRIF supports this network centric approach to a maximum. Likewise, the networked management system offers access to all networked sites for monitoring and confi guration purposes. The VCS 3020X enables the power of IP-networks. Enforcing standards for VoIP and SIP ensures interoperability, e.g. with COTS IP-telephones. The VCS 3020X fully supports mission critical tasks such as load sharing or contingency operations.
iRIF
This brand-new IP radio interface enforces networking capabilities. The iRIF is a slim intelligent radio interface accessible from any point within the IP cloud. Beside serial and IP based remote control interfaces it provides the audio connection with PTT/SQU to the radio.
