GroupEAD Europe S.L.
GroupEAD Europe S.L. is a private liability company established in Madrid in April 2001 to operate the European AIS Database and to deliver the EAD Service on behalf of Eurocontrol. Shareholders are the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisations of Spain, AENA, of Germany, DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, and Frequentis (28 % Shareholding).
European AIS Database
On behalf of EUROCONTROL, the FRQ-Group has provided the IT Services already since 2003 for the whole EAD-system (which provides aeronautical data for civil and military aviation authorities, air navigation service providers, airlines and other organisations). In the tender for the second phase of the IT Service Provision (from 2008 to 2013) which was put out on a rotational basis end of 2006, Frequentis was again awarded the contract for the EAD IT Service Provision. A most significant order for IT Service Provision was given in August 2007.
